To what extent does an Arkwright Scholarship aid an application for Natural Sciences? I can see the obvious link with engineering, but is it viewed favourably for anything else? Are there any benefits to doing it (e.g. get a feel for what happens at interview, confidence etc)?

Conversely, would you be disadvantaged at Cambridge without credentials of that sort? I have a week of barely relevant work experience + arkwright but a glance over the stalking pages (olympiads, instrument grades, online courses, summer schools, D of E, OU modules) suggests that I'm underqualified. This may be because TSR tends to attract the studious though.

My lack of accumulated 'funsize' extras is less a problem with my interest and more about simply not knowing they exist. I am completely up for doing more. Know anything relevant for NatSci? How would I improve my application in that area?
