My theory is that people from Wales and the South West will NOT put rugby, and people from the north of England will NOT put cricket. Golf was just a reference point
Feel free to add other sports, but we all know stuff like tennis/polo/croquet/etc are seen as "posher" than the ones in the poll.

Croquet. Definitely the only name of a sport, when I say it out loud, that sounds silly if I don't add a superior and very standard oxford english tone to it. And it's hitting balls with a mallet through tiny hoops! I fail to see how it can get any 'posher' than that!

Still find it weird that rugby's seen as a "posh" sport in places. I know it's more popular in southern England than the north; I just find it really perplexing.

Wait Rugby is posh? Its the bastion of working class spirit
From those golf and cricket its a hard choice though, based purely off anecdotal evidence probably cricket in my region.

I've heard a few people say that in Wales (where I'm from) rugby is more of a working class sport, and football is slightly more middle class. Whereas in England it's the opposite, football is more working class.
Can anyone vouch for that? I've always been curious.

even football I remember reading it's becoming harder for working class kids to reach the higher levels, which really tells you something, I mean if ball games can become inaccessible then your society has serious issues imo!
