hey, i work there. my manager didn't ask me many challenging questions, just basically stuff like what my hobbies were, what i'm studying, what i know about what holland and barrett sell & also if i've ever bought anything from holland and barett.
but once you do get the job (if), you have to do a BORING induction course, learning around different therapies etc. and then you have a test. but its not really a test because my manager told me all the answers and then my pay went up.
feel free to pm me.

btw, the customers are bloody annoying.

My bf works there  I like it cause I can go in and we can have a snog and no one cares (even his manager)

Mostly, he sits there all day and listens to his MP3 player. However, he did take the test and passed (he is quite academic though, so it wasn't hard!) so maybe that's why he can get away with it.

He finds it useful because in the holidays they do give him extra hours (when others are sick/on holiday) but they did cut his basic hours from 9-5:30 to 9-2 :frown:.

Overall, he doesn't really like it, but I'd gladly work there.

(EDIT: His boss goes to McDonalds most lunchtimes and smokes  )

Thanks for the replies

I'll look up some of the stuff they sell and that should stand me in good stead!

Could anyone tell me what the rough pay levels are?

It depends if you're going to the Pimlico course or the Southampton one, i think. I went to the Pimlico one and had to be there for 9 o'clock, it finished at about 4 but it can go on till 4.30 apparently. You get paid for it, though so it's not so bad and it's not exactly hard.

I'm a weekend supervisor and I'm 18, so I get £6.49 an hour, I have no clue what the associate levels of pay are though. My interview was pretty simple to be honest, just a case of "do you want a supervisor job, or an associate job?". Of course I said supervisor, 'cus I assumed it'd be more money and it looks better on my CV! It's not an amazing place to work for, and you have to learn to hold your own - tell them when something's annoying you and don't let them mess you around and you'll be fine. The courses aren't too bad either, you get a bunch of help with them.

I've managed to apply for a sales assistant role. TBH i'm still on the hunt for my first job.....(17 years old btw). Do u reckon they will even consider employing me?, as i dont have any experience
oh yh and its for 10 hours.....sounds minute for me personally......but what would you consider as too much, considering the working enviroment? lol  (hours that is)
