I think maybe a B, or a low A. You can retake it though (:

Oh okay, thank you! Yeah I'll probably be retaking, I think the next biology ISA is on osmosis? Should be interesting..

Wow, 49's super impressive! I got 41, which was the boundary for an A* last year I think, so hoping to get a few more marks in the next one!

Well done! I'm sure you can improve:cool:

I'm sure you will do fine as long as you know how to regurgitate what it says on the book

In terms of photosynthesis, what is the definition of a limiting factor?

Something which prevents the rate of photosynthesis from happening any faster?

Can someone give me a better definition than this? Or will this get the marks if the question asks what does the term limiting factor mean?

It's fine. I'd write: A limiting factor is something that limits the rate of photosynthesis from happening at a faster rate.

I think they do make the specimen slightly harder than the real thing, hopefully we'll all be pleasantly surprised tomorrow!

For the 6 mark questions, ideas people have had are:
- speciation
- advantages/disadvantages of embryo screening or use of stem cells
- distribution or organisms - using quadrats and line transects
- possibly enzymes, but I doubt there's enough to say for a 6 mark question

but just to be safe, it's worth going over the whole spec before tomorrow, no one can know for certain what the questions'll be on!

good luck!
Good luck everyone tomorrow! I have prepared so much for this exam but like someone else said in this thread, think I'll just panic. Going to do some last minute revision but only for about an hour later and get a clear mind ready for the exam.

Speak to you all in a couple of days.
I am really happy that it snowed today I didnt have to go to school ,I got a lot of biology revision done so yay. I wish everyone the best of luck for the exam .:biggrin:

Quick question : if the exam question asks for one reason can you just list many reasons that you know to be safe? Or do they just take the first one?

Yes you can actually mention more than one..
But it is best to just mention one in case the second point is wrong..
If the second answers wrong you lose the mark :frown:

Good luck for tomorrow!

it's to stop people who dont really know the answer writing lots of things that they think maybe right and hedging their bets. If you write something correct, you will get the mark, no need to go OTT

Aaah I'm nervous for tomorrow. I really don't understand the distribution of living organisms - quadrat and transect :/
Can someone suggest a link for this to help me revise?

Good luck to everyone!
