Hello, yes maybe this is a stupid question but I just wanted to be sure.

My final year is triple weighted, I take it this simply means the final year is worth 3 times the second year(as my first year doesn't count) so If I was tos omehow mess up my second year, it could still be recovered in the final year?

Thanks

Depends how badly you 'mess up' your second year and how well you do in your third, if you come out with a third in your second year you should be able to bump it up quite considerably if you achieve high 2.1s and firsts consistently.

Better off just to try and do well throughout though and hedge your bets - you don't know what might happen in your third year to affect your performance!

Okay thanks, but I was right in thinking that a triple weighted final year is worth 3 times as much as your second year? Sorry for sounding stupid - I just want to be clear.

Thanks

Yes, assuming a three year course.

Every University is different with regards to their weightings, and how the degree classification is worked out.

If your third year is 3x the second year it means that...
Year 2 - 25% of overall degree
Year 3 - 75% of overall degree

If you get rubbish grades in year 2, you can most definitely make it up in year 3.
