I just received an e-mail saying I got a single room in High Holborn (which was my first choice). I've accepted it and I need to pay a £200 deposit within 10 days. So who's got in where? Post here!

Congratulations Xanthe. Excellent place, but expensive. :p:

Yeah it's expensive: £135 per week for a single in HH. I applied in January.

I applied late March - still nothing...this makes no sense, how does it work?! Some people have heard the day after they applied!

Nice one, Xanthe.

I got an offer from my first choice residence as well - Bankside House and I've paid for the £200 deposit.

I hope to end up there too.

Or Northumberland possibly, depending on the feedback I get later this year.

I really wish there were- that was the main reason I did not apply there, along with the lack of catering...

You'll be reapplying to Oxford though, won't you? So you might not end up at LSE after all. :frown:

It's good to go non-catering (according to a friend of mine) because they often have anti-social hours for breakfast eg 6am-7am. I mean, who's going to get up to have breakfast at this time?

Yep, but you do not have to pay for the meal anyway, hence you do not have to get up. But if you do not have the time or patience to cook, lol, you can always get some food there... Thats what I thought anyway, lol.

By the way, are we ever going to get a photo of you on the photo thread?:p:

Doesn't Bankside go both catering and non-catering?

Yeah, but I don't think my chances of admissions are very high. Well, I wouldn't know until I apply. We'll see.

Bankside's pay-as-you-eat. So you can get food if you want to, or cook by yourself if you prefer.

Don't apply to Oxford, the admissions system is fundamentally flawed - go for Cambridge instead:p:

So Bankside does have basic kitchen and cooking equipment, right? Or was I hallucinating when I read this somewhere?
