I go to the libray to study before exams - or if I need to read stuff for my course I read it on the train on my way home - I can't escape, its an hour or so journey and would get bored if i don't, and I'm too poor to keep buying battereis for my cd player lol...

cant wait for warmer weather
taking books to the park!

It's the other way round for me. I can only get Internet access in the library at university - my flat seems like a bastion of bookishness in comparison!

I dont like quiet to work in so i dont like the libary, but it sounds good for you.
i have a pc in my bedroom but once i get revising its only function is to play music but while i'm revising it annoys my parents cos i just leave the same song on repeat for about 2 hrs. Some of my best revison for AS had to be done on the bus, the busiest nosiet bus i've ever been on, but i leart loadsa chemistry.

I wish i had a park that i could sit in near me, i cant wait till i go to durham or york

You can put your PC away. All you do is unplug all the sockets, and peripherals. Then just move everything out, and put the base unit in your parents room, the monitor in the dining room, keyboard in the car, etc. It is possible.

With regards to studying in the library. I tried that, it doesn't work for me. I remeber going down to Central Library in Manchester to study, I went every day for two weeks, eight hours flat, this was during the exams last summer. It just didn't work for me, too many distractions, like silly knobs thinking they are gonna be clever cause they spent an hour there, all the while just chatting to their friend. The influx of all the people coming in, people going out, pulling things out of their bags, sighing, listening to their walkmans. It's ridiculous. Having said that, I did find that I concentrated some what better than if I stayed at home, as there are no direct diversions for me to do. Just try it for a week or so, then see if it suits you.

you have just reminded me how foolish i have become, from your question, iv only started using this site,

going to the library is cool, just make sure your friends dont go otherwise they'l distract you, depends on your friends really, i used to go alone but then friends started goin, the thing is, u end up getting paper thrown at you when you are falling asleep, in my case, a rubber, but urm, i dont know, that really hurt tho,

you'l be surprised how much info you take in at the library, the thing is, you will get tired fast coz time flies at times and you get really hungry, wel i do, coz alot of energies used up by my brain,

dont forget to take study breaks,

hope i helped!

what are you studying for? i have the same porblems but ive never actually revised before so...it makes things worse with a computer and the net.
Trouble is when you go to the library and end up browsing in the music section looking at the books and cds like I did :frown:

Try setting yourself targets, i.e. only allow yourself on the computer for 30mins after you have done a certain piece of work or revision. It takes a bit of willpower though.

Get a pack of extra strong mints or minstrals or whatever, and promise yourself one sweet for every page of notes you learn or chapter you read, etc. Bribery works!
