oh wow, that I could not deal with, I would argue back if something wasnt to my liking

Woaah, this may be personal but why did you do what you did? Did it seem right or justified? Or just because you had to.

I've only done turkey/Dubai/USA/Canada of those

Lmao, all those males

I'm the same tbh, suprised I stomached it for 7 years, seen many guys snap and go to jail for punching an officer lol

I don't think many wars are justified, I'm too cynical to blindly believe any justification given by some insidious, underhanded, self-orientated politician/media outlet/association.......but........we need resources, whether that be oil/ores/food and we need to be competitive, through finance, military might, and thus influence. So we do what we have to sustain our way of life, even if that is morally wrong.

This world is a beautiful place, lots to see, I've been to others countires as well, but not with the Navy.

Lmao, hey I'm used to it by now!

Haha, all about the Mathematics init, getting busy with the numbers! Still, plenty of partying to come, not for me though, I got that out my system years ago, prefers a pizza, glass of red, cuddling up to a film and an early night! Will probably get a Dominos tonight, can't be bothered cooking, it's so expensive for what it is though, when you can get 2 for £5 at the supermarket, but I can't be bothered to drive to tescos, I'll probably lose my car space if I do haha Working tomorrow as well, until Tuesday, then 4 days off again!

Haha yeah the only partying for me is with numbers now; I've long gotten real partying out of my system too!

Ah you should make your own pizzas instead of Dominos - nice little romantic activity for the couple! That's amoreeeee :tongue:

Don't know how you'll ever cope with just FOUR days off in a week -.- haha - need to get myself a job BIG-TIME. The fun and excitement of Maths has distracted me from the job hunt too much!

Don't tempt me with the jokes. I have a... Well an acquaintance who's set on the navy :mmm:

haha you wouldn't want to end up in a military jail, it's like a concentration camp lol

haha well I try:redface:

Hong Kong was my favourite, great place, always warm, good mix in culture, east meets west so to speak, was a British colony from 1836 (iirc) until 1997, so very user friendly westerners, good food, nice women:wink: and has a very vibrant and exotic nightlife, and loads of tourist traps to se as well!

I don't envy him lol, well the Navy isn't all bad, I'd say get in, enjoy and get what you can and get out in 5 years. But he'll have to give up his freedom and privacy, sharing communal living quarters is not for the faint hearted lol we had 1 shower room which was 1 room with about 20 shower heads about 2 feet apart, having to wash you bits and bobs in front of other guys takes some getting used too:eek:

Sorry for the late replies, I'm juggling a few things tonight, just had to take the curtain poles down, and fill the piloted screw holes with filler, will sand them down and touch up with magnolia tomorrow after work, will be staying in my new place from tomorrow night, still have more to move over though, hate moving, so stressful1

No need to try

Oh wow :colonhash: I cannot do that... Communal showers and all  and I need space, from people... Otherwise I get all flustered and annoyed although I do like.confined spaces :colone:

I'm happy to get at replies at all :awesome:

I've been to mainland China as well, and Macau. The Chinese are actually very liberated in some ways, very interesting culture and the people are very friendly (those who speak English). I think you'll really enjoy it mate!

I really appreciate my privacy now, don't ever want to see another hairy bare bum in the shower again lol OTT

Moving in to a new place with my GF, we had our own places since we met, but things are moving forward for us so this is the next step. Plus it cuts my bills in half, so more monies for the piggy bank!

Very good language to learn, being a linguist will open many doors, in fact I read an article stating that the top earners in the world, are basically bankers (who specialise in lingusitcs!), but any professional career combined with another language is a very strong hand to have.

haha I was careful, but accidents happen at inconvenient times, lol, I slipper over in the showers once, legs and arms everywhere haha

Chees bud, yes it's a 3 bedroom house, big kitchen, lounge and dining room, 3 toliets and 2 seperate bathrooms as well as ensuite in the master bedroom! Ain't cheap though!

So you're not Welsh? Or just a posh welshie with queens english with a twang accent lol You know the american accent has been associated as a derivative of the cornish accent, east coast anyway. Can hear if sometimes if you listen for it.

I'm white but my GF is mixed race (her dad is Iranian and mum is french)....she's stunning and the best flavour I ever had haha

Hi,

I have literally just bought the entire Edexcel A Level Maths and Further Maths study materials. I am 28 years old and will be self-studying with the intention of sitting the exams for each module (18 total) next year in 2014.

I'm working full-time, but have the luxury of working 4 days on, 4 days off, so I will have ample time to study.

I will also start studying Maths and Statistics with the OU in October, I hope to get decent grades at A level in Maths and Further Maths, and combined with 120 credits from the OU and transfer into a bricks and mortar Univeristy in 2015 to study......Maths!

Just wanted to know if anyone has studied A level Maths and Further Maths recently, was it hard, what was the exam timetable like, are there any resources I can use to help me study? Any other information and/or advice would be most appreciated!

Cheers,

Personally my advice would be different from L'evil Fish's. I'd say do:
C1-4 (all modules are required for A2 FP and Applied modules)
S1
D1
FP1
Then to do the rest the year after. Heck If you already have an A/A* in Normal Maths You SHOULD have no problem in applying to a brick and mortar university to start with.
You can also then do AEA this year and a good grade in that WILL help next year.

I did recommend this before but others said otherwise so I altered it slightly to lots of easier modules

I took AS maths last year.... Unit C1 was cake, very strait forward and I got a B with no revision... then came C2 and Statistics 1 (S1) and I bombed those and decided to drop it.... however most other people in my sixth form seemed to get by quite easily.
Also, i found it more frustrating than physics, which I still do while 80% of my class dropped physics at AS and kept on with maths so I guess maths is generally quite workable. I love maths but the exams just don't agree with me I guess.

This was all on the Edexcel exam board by the way. From what I hear it's the most practical with Calculation-based subjects like maths, further maths and physics.

Well you've got loads going for you mate, I would love to be able to pseak another language, quite envious! I have a few apps on my phone for learning German, but it's early days, very early! haha

Yeah she wants another baby (or 2!), she has a little girl from another relationship, she's 4 and is such a little sweetheart, I love em both! And she want one soonish (GULP) so there won't be a big age gap. I think we'll be OK, that's why I'm saving every penny, so if I did go uni we would still have enough money to get by, as I don't want to have to work at all if I'm studying, and I don't want her to work if she doesn't want too, I prefer her to stay as full time mum, I don't like this culture of 2 working parents with young children in childcare...a child should be with their mother/father not some stranger.

We'll see how it goes, nothing set in stone.

German is hard for me :frown: romance languages are so much easier :mmm:

You are very admirable... You're just... Very good values  and you're prioritising... I'm scared of growing up now  all these responsibilities as well...

I'll leave you to it, you carry on with what you're doing! Good night, sleep well
This thread has become so funny! My attempt at keeping it vaguely relevant to the original topic: Maths.

I will be a mature student indeed. Flitted between a couple of courses and jobs, before choosing this path. At least I can say I've tried different things, and know what I want now eh! I'm planning to have these A-levels done by June 2014. Hopefully I do well enough in my exams this June to apply to OWI & co, do my 3/4 years at X Uni, then storm into the magical Financial world! :awesome: Job hunt has been unsuccessful so far, I might have to turn back to recruitment again - been trying to avoid it, as it would massively eat into my revision hours:frown:

haha I wouldn't mind a Betty Crocker baking sensation for a girlfriend. Sounds like a good set-up! Enjoy making the old jokes while you can - you'll be on the receiving end of them soon!!
