Thats your choice. If someone reads the sun, it doesnt make them a bad person, or a person with less of a meaning in life.
No, but it demonstrates their intellect and the way they are content to read pure tripe from a newspaper that is based on pornography. As a person that does not read the Sun and am more educated than the majority of the population as are most people in further education i'd like to think that i could evaluate the need for a monarchy in our society - and i really can't see a need for it.

The Sun should stick to what it does best... tits, bingo, and spying on minor celebrities.

Perhaps, but if someone stuck the sun infront of me, i'd read it. Ok, its ****, but its still got the news in it. As long as you dont read into everything which is written its ok to read it I think. For instance, it isnt going to lie about a football or rugby score is it!

God who cares? Why does everyone need to read intellectual newspapers if it doesn't interest them or concern them? I doubt the Sun readers are all stupid and they will have awareness of some important issues which is better than reading no newspaper at all.

I don't care what I read. The Times is cool as is The Mirror/Daily Express.

Reading it is fine, as long as you don't take any of it seriously. What annoys me is the people who actually believe headlines like "Britain invaded by evil cannibal asylum seekers - parents outraged".

After reading the back (footy/other sport) and looking at page 3 (fit bird) you may as well throw it in the bin.

Mad Caddie can be charged under the Treason Felony Act 1848, since he has advocated the abolition of the monarchy. The punishment for high treason was a hanging (until recently this was the only offence punishable by hanging) but fortunately the punishment now is just life imprisonment.

Not a big sports fan, and most of those women are highly-flammable.

Incorrect! Piracy (stealing a British ship in international waters) was also, along with treason, until recently a hanging offence.

Oh well, take me to a nice heated room where i don't have to pay any rent, get free food and drink, a toilet in my room, Sky TV, free gym membership, access to a library every day, internet access and i get to have some good friends.

    Down with the monarchy.

I am neutral to the monarchy. Logically, the revenue they bring in through tourism outweighs the maintenance costs. However, I don't like the idea of people being super-rich simply because they are 846th in line to the throne or whatever. Just look at Tara Palmer-Tompkinson, she has more money than 99.9% of the population, despite being a brainless bimbo.

Well, unfortunately no-one has been charged under this act for over 120 years. The Act still applies today, however.

True. But Jade Goody is a brainless bimbo and has more money than most of the population. Look at Jordan too. The fact is, the working class of this country cant get enough of people like them whether they come from a rich family or not.

Probably. I know that a lot of people were upset when that Diana person died.
I was upset when that Diana person died, but it's worse when people mourn for the sake of mourning, which I think was the case then.

(According to my psychology teacher) The average Sun reader has a vocabulary of 3000 words, opposed to the average year-13 student, who has a vocabulary of 15000.
Heh Heh. I'm a Times man myself, so there you go.

WTF, treason is no longer a punishable offence. So f**k the queen.

Also, why has my thread been deleted and this completely meaningless one been allowed to flourish?

Hey, don't ask me. Did I not say at the very beginning "this is a stupid thread"? Incidentally, it's probably still here because it doesn't lie about the death of any individual, monarchs or otherwise. So there.
