Questions about St Cuth's

Okay so I was allocated to Cuth's after applying for Mary's, although I'm actually quite in love with the Bailey anyway, so I'm pleased.

I would like to know a few things, however, for anyone that's been there/is there:
- How far away is the Bailey site from the Politics buildings?
- likewise for Parson's field
- In terms of the Bailey, how likely would it be that I could get a single room?
- How far are the rooms from the bathroom and what are the bathroom facilities like? (very precise question, I know!)
- Is it worth the lack of en suite to stay in the Bailey site, or is it worth picking the more isolated site at Parson's?

I do love the location of the Bailey, but am a tad apprehensive about accommodation. I'm kinda socially anxious and being in a small space with a lot of people also jars me a tad.

Cheers!

Can't help you much about details for Cuths, but here's a useful resource for locations and distances;

It is about 15 - 25 minutes walk to the al-Qasimi building and South End House depending on the route you take (the two main ones being over the bridge and down Quarryheads Lane and Potters Bank, or walk down the Bailey and go via Church Street, past the library and through Mary's).

However, lectures can be held in Elvet Riverside (under 10 minutes), the Science site (15 minutes) or a number of other places.

- likewise for Parson's field

Add five minutes to the Bailey time.

Personally, and I do say this as someone who never lived in (only lived in private rented accommodation or commuted from home) but I'd go with the en quite at Parsons field. The convenience of the en-suite would be worth it for me.

You can still visit the college on the Bailey if you want (it's nice for walks, especially if you go past and down to the riverbank) and will be visiting for the bar or other events. So you can still get your fair share of Baileyness.

In terms of picking rooms, you get an options form when you can select from:
- Single Bailey
- Shared Bailey
- Ensuite self-catered
- Single/non-ensuite self-catered
In order of preference, so you could go for a Single Bailey room then apply to ensuite stuff if you really didn't want to share.
I'm in one of the non-ensuite buildings and there's 5 people to a bathroom, this is the max I think. You can also go for the meal package if you don't want to cook.

And I think that's precisely what I will do!
Thank you!
