Fast Weight Loss??

Can anyone help? I need to lose weight and fast. I need a good incentive to start, and a quick start so i feel like something is happening. Then we can move onto the healthier option after the quick start, ie the sensible weight loss plans. Dont tell me i dont need to lose weight cause i do. And im not a silly small size 10/12 who is paranoid, im quite a larger person.

any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Atkins. You'll have to make sure you start exercising and eating very healthily once you come off it so you don't put all the weight back on. Try it for a month and see how you go. It's not a permanent option obviously because it's not especially good for you but it probably won't do you any serious damage in a month.

Before taking up any kind of drastic diet you ought to see a dietician or a doctor as they can advise you better and give you a chance to ask about some of the risks various weight-loss programmes might entail.

erm how fast are we talking about here? its unhealthy for you to loose a lot of weight in a short amount of time and is bad for your body. but im not going to lecture you if you want to do it then fine your body not mine. just cut down on your calorie intake for example have cereal for breakfast with something to drink like juice, you could use semi-skimmed milk if you want, perhaps a sandwiche for lunch, with fruit water etc and for dinner something not too calorific so lay off chips, burgers etc anything deep fat fried or fried. if you want fried food like bacon then grill it as its healthier, also avoid snacking in between meals, if you have to eat fruit or drink water. water is great as it fills you up and stops you feeling hungry. remember 50% of the time when you feel hungry you are actually thirsty! then do lots of excersise but mainly cardio including running swimming etc. the more calories you burn the faster you loose weight.

Well considering that you should lose 2lb a week, its not going to happen.

Atkins will make you lose the weight, but you will gain it back in an instant. Why are there always posts like this popping up.

If you start unhealthy, chances are you are going to keep unhealthy. To loe weight properly, eat less than you are now, exercise more, and don't fuss too much about calories/fat - just get a good balanced diet, 7 fruits/veg a day, 2l water, and a balance of minerals.

*le sigh*

mm. I dont generally have time to excercise that much, im at school all day, then i do loads of stuff in the evenings! i dance a couple of times a week but thats about it. i heard about the slimfast, whats that all about?

i dont usually eat fried food or anything like that, generally get 5 a day, always drink water, yet i still seem to be piling it on!

I have lost more than 2lbs a week before, despite the fact it's often said to be impossible. And I know at least one person who Atkins has worked for.

However, in the long run its all going to be about stability: the OP obviously intends to segue into something healthier.

I know i keep putting obstacles in the way, but i have important exams coming up soon, so i cant rlly start ne thing else! And i dont like people seeing me excercise, ie at a gym or anything, sometimes i get het up about people watching me dance, which is why i dont go in for grades or dance on stage. i am serious about it. i turn 18 in a few weeks time and want to look good for the night out, so i need to lose it fast!

Atkins is the best but the Special K diet is also quite good and not as difficult (in terms of the choice of foods you have...Atkins is very limited and can also make you feel ill).
Atkins can lead to all sorts of health risks, and as soon as you start eating carbs again, the weight will rocket back on.

Is the sole reason you want to lose a stone so that you can look good on a night out? I'd rethink your priorities, if I were you.

Does the special K diet work for people with normal BMIs? I might be confusing it with something else but I'm sure it says on the box that it's only recommended for people with BMIs higher than 25.

More then 2lb is excess water...
More then 2/3 lb of fat is improble, as to burn a lb you need to remove around 3500 calories from your diet per week....and if you remove too much, your body think's its starving, and keep's any excess fat...
With the Atken's it is best to still have carb's when you are working out...
Just reduce the amount of calories you have to 1200-1400, and exercise a few times a week(dance class burns lots of cal's)...
Apprently the special k diet + exercise produces good results...

The special K diet made two people I know really sick. So obviously they came off it and then they put more weight on than what they had lost. They are both (I'd guess) in the normal category of BMI

Oooh, I dunno. I did it but I have a normal BMI  Thing is I dont really like the Special K cereal so I ate Shreddies and Fitnesse instead which was the same calorie and fat content as special k. So I didnt read the box. I dont know if Ive lost weight cos I'm lacking scales at uni.
i need to lose about 4 stone for health reasons

If you want to lose 4st for health reasons, speak to your doctor. They can put you on a diet plan, a healthy one, that may help.
