Clinodactyly __ aka bent little finger
Hello 
I was bored so researched the name for my bent little finger on my right-had and it's Clinodactyly!
"The term clinodactyly is used to describe a bending or curvature deformity of the finger which occurs in the plane of the hand."
I've been reading up on it instead of revising and apparantly this affects 10% of the population... I doubt this tbh... but anyway I was wondering if any TSR users also had a bent little finger or had one and fixed it?
I did go to the doctor to get it fixed but they said it couldn't be operated on because after surgery it would just remain completely straight and unbendable
I think this was a lie tho

omg omg i thought i was the only on in the world who had this!!!! *cue the life story* I've got bent fingers, my left little finger being worse. Apparently when i was little, i got really self defensive and wouldn't let anyone hold my hands! can't say thats true now though!

no, notice when i straighten all my fingers (in the pic) the last one doesn't (and it can't on its own) straighten like the rest, perhaps i underestimated the severity of what you meant "bent little finger" lol

wow thats my finger lol. i got told it was something to do with the tendon being too tight in ur finger, i duno?!

Mine looks slightly different tho, It's like the skin isnt long enough if that makes sense?

Have any of you clinodactyly (sounds like a dinosaur) sufferers tried wearing some kind of support on your hand to lengthen the tendon/skin? Similar to wearing braces for your teeth.
i haven't heard of anything like that
but apparently when i was younger i had to do "exercises" with my fingers, basically kind of stroking them in a way, gently trying to straighten them out. This definitely worked, as my fingers went from completely curled, to what they look like now (in my pic)Related discussions
