They were at the start of term, but they've since installed CCTV and a light at the top of the steps and i've not heard of any incidences for a long time. I don't feel particularly unsafe, but then I don't do anything silly like walking home at night alone.
You should be fine as long as you just be sensible.

Plus, they have a security car which i often see going round the grounds - makes you feel a bit safer.

Im not at Leeds, but when i went on the open day for accomodation. i spoke to a girl who lived there and she said that she felt safe.

its right next to Little London... what do you expect...
Leodis is fine, very secure residences and very swanky flats.

Security in and around Leodis is good, especially since the start of semester 2 (after Christmas) - it just lacks an atmosphere. So if you're a recluse of any sort, you'll love it here!

yeah there hasnt been much trouble since christmas really.. what with the security increase.. and yeah it is pretty much in the ghetto but it's a lot nicer than other places in area.. monty b.. great atmosphere (e.g. they actually have events unlike leodis) but lacks en suite which is nice to have.. st marks just seems grotty.. tho my friends wud disagree!

i still like leodis.. now the security issue isn't a big deal there's not a problem..

Was pretty bad in first semester with a string of muggings, some violent, but haven't heard of any problems since Christmas.
mate... rough, your having a laugh. your thinking of changing your accomadation because your scared you might get mugged. you should be ashamed of yourself son!!! leodonis aint that rough. obviously i dont know where you live at the moment. in the country by the sounds of your thread. But you aint got nothing to worry bout!!
Um no offence but I doubt anybody (wherever they're from) would much fancy handing over 3 grand a year for living somewhere they may not feel safe in. Despite what everyone has said about it being 'not that rough' and newly 'secured' the fact of the matter is that there has been a history of crime there so it's natural that people would be slightly concerned or at least inquisitive about it. There's nothing wrong or 'shameful' with making sure. Especially for somebody who hasn't been there yet.

Just to demonstrate how safe it is...

You can't even get away with planting a plastic christmas tree in the garden bit without security man coming round and chastising you and threatening to get you prosecuted for criminal damage.

Ace.
Good afternoon my fellow student undergraduates! Leeds is safe as houses. It bugs me that alot of these students nowadays worry too much about these sort of issues. We're living in an increasing violent society. Fact. The bad thing about uni is that it isolates you from the surrounding community! All happy students, living happy times in their own little dreamworld wonderland! It's time that students like yourself face up to the often violent reality outside, since you will only have to face it once youve got a job in the big bad world. Grow some testicles!

Regards.
is right fella!

strap a pair on guys!
