Hey, I also got a conditional for Digital Film Production (only need a pass). I think i'm going to look for a house with about 6 people about £150pw. Does anyone know anything about finding houses? I've started looking but there isn't much available at the moment. I guess it is early days to start looking. Has anyone heard about any good areas for student housing? Also, is anyone thinking about having a job alongside the uni work? I don't really want to, but London is pricey so i might not have a choice.

Hey guys, I got a conditional (CC) offer for digital film production at rave. I am almost certain I’m gona firm it, it looks amazing. I’m gona try get a place at the halls they are building, they look really nice and the fact its walking distance helps. I have never lived in London and it is so expensive, I just wondered how many people were applying for the halls (Scape)?I have no idea what the student life is gona be like, I hope it’s awesome!!

Hey wow congrats! I think some are going to go for Scape (including me!) and others are looking into organising a house share, which is significantly cheaper
I hear the StudentUnion put on a great Freshers, I can't wait!

Hey, I am also looking to do a flat share and I have been looking around (check out sites like spareroom.com) but I would say that it is probably a bit too early to be looking seriously as if you find somewhere you love, the only way you can make sure it stays there is to put a deposit down (often around £500) but you don't want to do that if there's a chance you won't meet a conditional offer.

Hope that makes sense/helps  also - make sure to check things like what bills it includes and bear in mind how far you will have to travel every day etc. I also have a conditional for DFP and will definately be trying to get a job hahah x

Hi, I've got a conditional offer for ravensbourne fashion promotion and was just wondering is anyone looking at pure highbury for accommodation? I know it's quite far but reasonably priced plus its shared kitchen and really nice! Plus near Camden which is a bonus.:wink:

Hey I recently got an offer from Ravensbourne for their Fashion Promotion course I made it my firm!
I've been looking at the new Scape halls even though they are insanely expensive, so still a lot to think about, but the website just states the booking process goes live in April. Does anyone know what date, or how you can find out what date??

Awesome man, yeah the two courses go well together, I've got a friend on the digital advertisement course and he's loving it! The lectures are together as well apparently so I'll see you around at some point!

I've got a place on the Digital Advertising and Design course as well! See you guys there

Ravensbourne is the place to be. It is modern, it is respected, and it looks at both the present-day and the future of the industry.

The only downside is it is not a campus based University, so it doesn't have the 'traditional' student lifestyle. But I would much rather have a better opportunity to gain work experience and start to make a career within in the industry.

I will be attending Ravensbourne in September on the Digital Television Production course. Unless I get the Broadcast Operations apprenticeship with BSkyB.

Westminster actually teach storytelling, whereas Ravensbourne tend to focus on playing with cool pieces of kit. It's up to you which you choose but I would definitely pick Westminster.

What the post above me said is partially true. Ravensbourne is more highly regarded, however they tend to focus less on the artistic side of the the Production process. From what I gather, they focus on both the storytelling and technical production equally, whereas Westminster place more emphasis on the storytelling and less on the actual production..
But Ravensbourne are one of the most highly regarded university colleges, probably in Europe, for the course. The fact the director of The Kings Speech did that course at Ravensbourne says it all

Best of Luck Teaman101~! I'm not too bothered about 'traditional' student life, I'm staying at home anyway so it wouldn't really make a difference haha

From what I've gathered, I think Rave is good for television and animation but how is it for film?

The Westminster course is a skillset awarded course but it seems at Rave, I hear more about opportunities and work experience.. I'm honestly not too sure..

Do you know what you want to specialise in? If you want to be a camera op or DoP then Rave is great.

That's quite wide. I'd personally say you'd be better off at Westminster if you want to direct but for the others, Ravensbourne is perfect.
