The Venue- Kent

I've heard this is the best place to go at kent uni, but haven't really found much information about it. Is it just a nightclub/ Whats the music like there, are there many gigs there throughout the year? Oh, and is the rumour about it just being cheesy music true|??? :confused:

any information anyone has will be grateful! :biggrin:

Errr as far as nightclubs go it's ok, I prefer BaaBars down in the town. It has three floors - the top which is just a bar and seating, the middle which is like a balcony to the main dance floor, and the main dance floor itself. All levels have bars. The music rarely caters for different tastes, it mainly plays cheesy/chart music, although tonight for example there is a drum n bass night.
As far as visitors go, Pendulum have visited, along with Scott Mills, Zane Lowe, someone from the Smiths, not really any bands but the student bands are quite good.

The venue is OK. There is the works also. Its true it doesn't have a wide variety in music but however to be fair the Chart/Cheese night and Hip Hop/RnB nights seem to be the most popular. Its one of a few actual clubs in Canterbury so it is quite popular. Its £4 to get in which some think is quite expensive but the drinks are not badly priced.

BaaBars is the other name for The Works/The Bizz. They have themed nights and themed floors, differs from night to night, tho on Mondays The Bizz (top floor) is chart (I think), The Works (middle) is RnB/Hiphop, and BaaBars (bottom floor) is chart/cheese. Near Canterbury East station!
