Why is it that everyone interested in joining the RAF here is only worried about the fitness test?

If you're ridiculously unfit, but in every other sense would make a fantastic officer and pilot, then they'll take you in; if it takes them a year of recoursing you at officer training, they'll get you fit!

However, if during the selection procedure you don't demonstrate the required maturity, intelligence, honesty, integrity, initiative, foresight and common sense, while showing you are a team player and potential leader, with a high degree of aptitude and willingness to learn along with the many other things they look for in officers, then you're screwed, regardless of how far and fast you can run!

Be as fit as you can be. They can influence your fitness through training, but if you don't pass the interview and leadership tasks, they won't try.
