parents wont let me go out :(

basically I never go out with my friends and get drunk (like most people at the age of 17 do) because my parents don't allow me

it really gets me down as I feel I am missing so much and here all the stories of their amazing nights out

anyone else got this problem?

When I turn 18 I want to be out every weekend and they wont be stopping me... The fact they have prevented me going out is just going to make me even more wild when I turn 18.. so yea Lol

Don't count on freedom being granted to you, especially when your parents know you are safer in their home than out. You must take your freedom like a man.

Surely you can attempt to break out of home, can't you?

If you want your parents to treat you like a grown man, act like one and do as you desire. If I explain any more I risk giving too much power to a very simple minded lad - inferred from your need for an explanation of something very self-evident.

Have they actually said that when you turn 18 you'll be allowed out? Technically if you are living under their roof then it's their rules, so even at 18 they can argue against you going out.

Ask them why they won't let you go out. Also, it's probably best to play down the fact that your friends are drinking, as I'm guessing this is the main reason lol.

To be honest, you're not missing out on much, yeah, it's fun at first, but the novelty soon wears off! I'm talking from experience here.

Maybe, and this is a big maybe, your parents dont think you are mature enough to go out with your mates yet?.Just sticking my neck out there.

Just have a chat with them and ask them why they dont let you out.
My parents didn't let me go out til I was 18. Deal with it - they need to know you're safe and it's illegal for you to be drinking/clubbing anyway.

Sorry to be blunt, but your parents are plain selfish. They wont let you go out as an excuse for there own selfish gratification to know you are safe. If they had it their way ideologically, they'd lock you up until you were 40 where you would then find a wife and have kids of your own the next day.

Its the whole parents not being able to let go malarchy, whether they like it or not you aren't the 10 year old kid you once were. You're 17 years old and you need to be exposed to independence sooner rather than later.

I tend to find that people who have been sheltered growing up are the ones who go crazy where they're finally let go.

My parents believed in their kids making there own mistakes to learn from them etc and hence didn't give a toss from about 13 onwards, I went out every night and I grew up in one of the roughest cities in Wales. I'm now at one of the best Universities in the UK doing Mech Eng and training to be a pilot in my spare time.

Tell them to speak to me, i'll sort them out for you.

I agree. If they wont listen to you just sneak out/lie tbh

The idea is to not let your parents know you are drinking, of course they won't allow you to go out and get wasted.

So to you being sober < getting dangerously drunk? I don't blame your parents to be honest, drinking can get you into serious danger if you're not careful and they obviously care about you too much to let that happen.

Plus, there are more important things in life than getting wasted- you can have an equally great time without being drunk.

Well I imagine you're going to get a lot of shocked replied to this thread, so maybe show them this thread so they'll know how unfair they're being, they're taking away a part of your childhood in my opinion. I know a few of the TSR non-drinkers may disagree though, so I'd be interested to hear other opinions.

Childhood?! You mad bro?! since when is getting wasted every weekend and partying a part of your childhood. And to OP , no one gives a crap about your miserable shiitttty life, if you wanna get drunk and live by your own rules, simple move out.
