Thank god, i thought i was really ill for a second! To the pharmacey in the am then..
yes you can develop it anytime. I've got hayfever but so far i've only sneezed a couple of times in the last two weeks.

If your in full time education I think you can get it free from the Doctors (incase you didn't know). As tablets are about £3 for 7 (one a day) so would cost a fair bit over the summer

Yeah i developed hayfever around 16-17 too....such a bummer coz its making summer a dreadful time for me and revision rarely happens due to watery eyes and runny up nose etc:mad:

read that - loads of ppl i know who have never ever had hayfever before have suddenly got it these last couple of weeks and i have it much worse than usual, and apparently this pollen cloud is causing hayfever in a lot of ppl that dont usually get it, so hopeflly ur ok its just this weird pollen stuff from scandinavia

It'll die down in a few years hopefully. It's one of those things that just gradually goes. But whatever you do DONT SCRATCH YOUR EYES!! I did this a few years ago and it spells bad news. Bad news in terms of more pain, having to miss school / work and possibly hospital and stiches =S

I really hope it will! Ive been suffering really bad every summer since i was about 8 yrs old. Makes revision really hard, not to mention taking exams.

Just wondered can hayfever sufferers get extra time in exams, cos a girl in an exam i was in last yr got extra time cos she was ill (flu i think). Proly not but still worth asking lol:p:

Yea try not to scratch, eye drops can soothe for a little while.

my fever developed when i was almost 16, i was taking my GCSE's. Ive had it since, im almost 23 now, so ive had it about 6 or 7 years. it seems to be worse every year. Tablets dont seem to even mask the symptoms, im thinking going cold turkey is going to be a cheaper option.

I was 16 when I developed hayfever. It's not fun at all.
I was about 15/16 when I started getting hayfever.

Its been really bad this year; like I just have to be walking about with one window open for 5 minutes and I'm off. Oh woe.

I have had periodically reccuring hay fever always around April-May but volala, this year is the first time I didnt get it even though there is highest pollen concetration of pollen in Stockholm for like the past 50 years. Similar thing happened ages ago when I was allergic to cats a lot, and always hangin around my grandmas cats gave me allergic cough, but that dissapeared after few years as well. I guess around the age 12-20 you can both develop hay fever or loose it. Would be really annoying if I had hay fever while writing my ib Exams, spending half of the time blowing my nose...you know what i am talking about

Hehehe I am 21 now and I do believe that I am losing the hayfever susceptibility!! Yay!!

I have mild hayfever, which isn't helped by pollen getting in between my contact lenses and my eyes, I have to take my lenses out and clean them all the time. The tablets don't really help at all.
Yeah, mine started about 3 years ago. Last year it was pretty bad- my record is something like 15 sneezes in a row (and I'm not exagerrating) :frown:
In my exams I kept on getting a runny nose, so I was bloody sniffing for an hour or so before it stopped. I also get itchy eyes, this wasn't so bad because I used eye drops. However, so far it hasn't been that bad, just the odd sneezes each week, so fingers crossed!

I first got hayfever when I was 11. I didn't really have it last year and it's not been too bad this year. That may be down to the fact that coz it's study leave so I've not really been leaving the house! The first few years I had it it was awful.

Does anyone get a really hyper sense of smell when they get hayfever? I can smell things from a mile away this time of year.
