Casio fx-83GT Plus only giving answers in standard form

Hello

I'm sorry to post this here but its doing my head in and I can't find my instruction manual.

My little boy got hold of my calculator and now the calculator will only give answers in standard form, even small numbers. I try pressing the SD button but it will not show me the answer in any other format. Ive pressed Mode and pressed 1: COMP. I have tried pressing loads of button but still not solved the issue.

I think its a rather popular model so I hope someone can help me?

Thanks

If you're ever stuck in a mode and can't find a way out, you can always reset the calculator:

SHIFT, 9 (CLR), 3, =, =.

how did you fix this in the end? mine is doing the same thing

Doing shift + ENG will change the index of the 10 by a maximum of 9 usually. e.g. if you input 5×10^-9 it will go from -9 to -6 to -3 to 0

But how do u change that permanently like I don’t want it to give standard form from the beginning I have two calculators one gives the answer right away and the other gives it in standard form forcing me to press shift eng I want it to stop giving me standard form just like my other calc
