Which College??

Im planning on studying at Lancaster starting this year and was wondering which college would be best? I'm quiet and not particularly sociable so not very up for the clubbing scene- a pub scene would be better. Any suggestions?
Just want to have some suggestions about this as well since I'd also love to seek a friendly and peaceful college.

Well Cartmel is known as the quiet college if that helps at all
Cartmel would probably suit you best, don't quote me on that though.

So is Cartmel the only college with 8 to a flat and the rest are 5?

I guess Cartmel must have a bigger kitchen to accommodate for this?

The phrase "too many cooks" comes to mind.

Depends on the type of accommodation. In Fylde Superior ensuite it's 8 to a flat.

Anyway, you'll meet all kinds of people in your college. There isn't a college filled with quiet people who only like going to the pub. It just depends on the type of people in your flat and the people you make friends etc.

Some people make lits of friends with people in different college while other people mainly make friends with people in the same college.

I would reccommend Fylde or Furness. Fylde is better though

Also don't go into freshers thinking you won't like clubbing etc. You might find after freshers that you like it a lot, as is the case with a few people I know.

As the person above has said, there's all different types of people in every single college.

I have friends in each college who speak of quiet people and loud people.

It's not like admissions decide to put all the quieter, introverted people together haha, I'm afraid that isn't part of the application process.

You'll be absolutely fine in any college you choose.

I'm in Cartmel and it's actually quite lively, depending on whether you put yourself out there and make an effort to socialise!

I'm in Cartmel and my block is very loud! Some of my flatmates go clubbing mid-week as well as at the weekend.

All the colleges will have some people who like clubbing and some who like the pub scene, and some who like neither.

You probably should concentrate more on the type of accommodation you want and how far it is from your lecture venues.
If you are the type of person who gets up 10 minutes before the lecture then Flyde/Furness/Grizedale might be good.
If you are more energetic and don't mind a bit of walk, and prefer a quieter area then Cartmel/Lonsdale is the college for you.

I think if you're not up for the clubbing scene, which is totally fine, you're going to be fine wherever really, that's your decision at the end of the day! I wouldn't say there is a particular college that is 'quiet' although people do say Cartmel, but I have friends there who go out all the time when I stay in most of the time! (I'm in Furness, upgraded standard) There are 9 bars on campus and they're lovely just for a relax on an evening  I'd recommend Furness personally just because I've loved it so far! But from what I can remember when I applied, you can request a 'quiet' room ? I might have made this up, but I swear there was the option. Hope this helps somewhat!

There's all sorts in every college. As stated previously it's probably best to go with which accommodation you prefer.
But if you choose Cartmel I hope you like walking a long way in the rain to get to lectures and being the butt of many jokes.
Personally if I was applying again I'd pick Bowland.
Choose a college on the accomodation.

Yes people 'say' fylde is sporty or cartmel is quiet etc... but at the end of the day each college has a mix of people form all sorts of backgrounds with all sorts of interests.

Cartmel/lonnie are quite far from alex square but if you don;t mind the walk then it;s ok.

I'd choose grizedale but I'm biased. All brand new award winning accomodation, 5 mins to alex square, great bar, and also is 1 minute central (supermarket), chinese takeaway and wib wob burger bar
