    anybody know how i can start of on this essay which is about producing a piece of writing inspired by a short sequence from a film

    I think it depends on what genre of film you are basing the essay on? If it is on "love" it is obviously going to have a different feel to "horror". So this would influence the start of the essay.
    I'm not sure if this really actually answers your question to be honest!

    its this scene from the movie Faceoff the opening scene where father and son are enjoying their time in the park when all of a sudden somebody comes from no where and shoots them. so l have to write as an observer

    I just checked out the clip... In my opinion you immediately see two sides (good and evil.) This particularly stood out for me anyway.
    I would start the essay along the lines of 'the opening sequence from the film Faceoff was particularly inspiring to me, as an observer because....
    (then you put in why it was inspiring to you) I was immediately engaged with the two contrasts 'good' and 'evil'.
    Hope this is sort of what you were looking for.
