I retook a module from my Economics AS in January, having dropped it for A2, hoping to get up from a B to an A. My friend has just told me you can't improve your AS grade, however..but he has a habit of being wrong in these things, if anyone knows..?
Im hoping he is mistaken for thinking you can't change your UCAS application, but i thought I would be better off checking...

Why would you be allowed to retake it if you couldnt change it?

I retook my business AS to get a grade higher. You can do it but obviously it wont count towards a full a level as its only half (:

It changes the ums, not the actual grade itself

The guy above you has said the opposite!

    I got 84% in unit 1, 74% in unit 2.

I retook unit 2, so if I got say 80% would my grade not go up?

Depends whether your AS grades were cashed in by your school/college, if they weren't then the grade goes up. If they were, then it's just the ums that goes up and obviously It will help u to get an A for the a level if you carry it on.

Of course you can improve your AS grade if the new UMS changes it. However, you only get a new grade if the AS is cashed-in again (it's just an admin process to ask for a new grade). This is free, you just need to make sure it happens if you want a new certificate.
