Why is discussing any topic with americans so unedifying? My theory is possibly their lack of respect for the language, accurate language yields accurate thinking. Lazy english use.?

Sometimes however, it is fun trying to untangle the confusion they cause, oddly that can lead to new avenues of hair-splitting. (Even though this is a form of edification, it is not them clarifying things for me in their answers but the clarification comes from me trying to untangle even more knots in their answers. )

Fix your English before commenting on others'.

Edit: I felt like coming back to this thread because the topic irritates me. "Accurate language leads to accurate thinking"? That is the worst use of logic I have ever seen.

If people consistently use English "wrongly", then all they are doing is making up their own separate language which is correct in their own heads and in the heads of any other people who are able to understand them. Your current form of "correct" English is made up of HUGE amounts of mistakes that built up from different languages to form this language that we have today. By that logic, as time goes by, we become more and more "inaccurate" until one day we'll just revert back to being mindless apes.

I've had some thoroughly edifying conversations with some highly eloquent and erudite Americans. Let's not write an entire nation off as unworthy of conversation.

    But... but.....

Leave it too the clever folk to ruin all the fun.
