Planning on moving the family to NZ but don't want 2 give up my dream of odp training

Hi,

My husband and myself are planning on moving to NZ with our young family next year.

I really want a career as an odp and would hopefully be able to train down under. Does anyone have experience of the NZ course. I understand they are called anaesthetic techs out there. is their role very different to that of a uk odp?

Any advice would be great thank you.

Don't quote me but generally it would be better to become an ODP here in the UK first as it is more recognised internationally and has more recognition overall, then it would if you done the course out there. Also bear in mind that any health care progressional or assistant out there generally has more skill and responsibility in training and work. Lastly you need to have extremely strong finances before you can move out there as you have to prove that you can live for like 6 months comfortably or something like that, I only know things like this from speaking to friends who have gone and speaking to specialist study groups which are specifically for Australia and New Zealand. Try and look up this company called 'study options' they specialise in study in Australia and New Zealand. But yeah my overall advice would be to stay in the UK for like two years to do the ODP here and save up as much as you can before you apply to the embassy.

We are intending to move to New Zealand but after my degree in childrens nursing. Me and my husband went to a down under seminar in birmingham and uk degrees are widely accepted, they also help rank very high on immagration points if you have a skilled area! We have set ourself a deadline of 5 years to move
