Hi everyone, I'm looking for some advice on which course to apply for.

Basically I want to be a sports therapist, I did a basic course in the subject a few years ago as well as massage therapy and I feel like I have a good understanding of what the job entails.

    But....

From a career prospect point of view, do decent size clubs or clinics take sports therapists seriously in their own right compared to physios?

I know how competitive the physio courses are and I feel like I would be wasting my time applying when I know I want to go into the sports injury side of things and physio courses hardly cover that if not at all.

I just want to be practical about this knowing how much uni is going to set me back financially and I want to pick the right course for good job and career prospects.
Would I be able to find a job or even start my own business having trained as a sports therapist? Or do you think physios tend to get the jobs?

    Thanks for your help.

I had my applicant day down at UCLAN back in February and the students and lecturers all said there is a higher demand for S.T in that companies look at them better as they specifically target muscles and rehabilitation. It's also beneficial for you to do undergraduate in S.T and masters in physio. It nearly doubles your chances of walking into a job after Uni.
