    You're probably doing what he calls "sending mixed signals" by saying you don't want sex/too much intimacy but then inviting him back to yours and acting pretty intimate even if there was no sex. A bit odd as to why he now doesn't want a relationship, I would ask him straight up why he'd been hinting he did and then changing his mind, and saying that's why you said to leave it.

    To be perfectly honest sounds as if he wants sex and when you didn't give it to him he's backed off, I mean to be honest I see no harm in letting a guy sleep in the same bed and not going too far if you are not comfortable with that, he should really respect your decision and it now seems he is throwing a hissy fit, maybe he could have misunderstood the offer of staying in the same bed I don't know.
