What influences are there w/ selecting a career in the U.K.?
Do schools offer work programs/classes w/ simulated work experiences?
Are there programs to take students/graduates etc. to job sites and experience that job?
    Are there no help/programs offered?
Do you just pick based on class experience?

Do you just pick based on class experience?
What do you mean by class experience, considering many degrees aren't vocational in nature so will offer no direct experience of a career sector?

What do you mean by class experience, considering many degrees aren't vocational in nature so will offer no direct experience of a career sector?
    example1:
you are taking a computer class. though difficult, certain parts of that class are interesting, challenging, and fun. you are really good at that class and really good at those aspects that are viewable fun, exciting, compelling, etc.

example 2: You are in a communication studies course and one of the tasks is to debate a class mate. after completion, you like the experience gained and look towards careers or other courses that offer the same experience or such skills are required.

example 3: you are in an accounting class required for a business degree (general), and detest the work. though you pass, the work is so unlikable and strenuous that you decide never to become an accountant.

this thread is much clearer if you or anyone would care to take a quick survey.
