Recently I had a DSA needs assessment. I was recommended a Macbook Pro 15" will a decent specification (the needs assessors words). However, the needs assessor told me that I would only get the macbook if student finance Wales approves of the recommendation. How likely is it that the needs assessors recommendation for a macbook would be accepted?

You should only be recommended a mac laptop if you are on a Mac based course, or you have only used a mac and to train you to use a windows machine would be too much to take on. It depends on the course really. However the Welsh funding bodies are a lot more lenient that SFE.
