    Could you clarify your position?
it seems that a lot of people have been using countries with greater inequity as a negative comparison to argue for inequality.
My position is that the left wing bile advocated by most on here is the cause of these totalitarian toilets.

If you have a hypothesis, and the experiment disproves it, repeatedly, you should reject the hypothesis. Why can't socialists do the same? Because they don't care; all they care about is stealing money from those with more than them. Socialism is no different to mugging.

Which is why Scandinavia, the most closely comparable group of countries with many socialist policies, is a hellhole.

Oh wait, it's the most developed place on Earth.

Are you aware that the way you define things, or rather refuse to, makes it difficult for any THING to be discussed in any meaningful way?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newspeak

That the way you speak not only blocks meaningful discussion but does so ina way that mimics that of your nominal enemies suggests that you are too tribal to engage meaningfully

Or are just actually some sort of bot.

You won did you? Ignoring your confusing association with politicians, thinkers, diplomats, soldiers and economists of the last 50 years, how exactly was socialism destroyed in the Cold War. I see many obvious elements of Social Thought in practice every day in the United Kingdom. Socialism isn't only this narrow definition that people like you seem to hold of planned economies and the like. We live in what many would describe as a social democracy to some extent. Many countries around the world have socially democratic ideas in practice.

And also, defending an idea against comments that seem to gravely misunderstand it does not make that person an advocate of those ideas before you retort with some lazy reply on the lines of "you socialists are all the same".

As opposed to encouraging free market principles around the globe by entering a country and usurping their own resources?

You've misinterpreted, I never claimed I wanted Communism. I suggested more equality in the sense that huge corporate firms don't hog massive parts of the economy, their power should be reduced.

Besides, you'll never make it to the dizzy heights of the huge firms Microsoft or Goldman Sachs as there are so many barriers to entry... Society gives the assumption that the person who inspires to achieve, will do so. But there is a limit. A limit which is capped by corruption in the hierachy. In a Socialist society people can strive to achieve, I'm not suggesting Communism.

If you went about creating a company it won't get very far against the amount of monopolies in the market.
No the Limit is capped by IQ and hardwork

do you think everyone can just become doctors, afterall they are in the top 1 %

The government has played an increasingly large role in the economy as inequality has gone up; how will giving the government more power help?

That is imperialism. Not capitalism. If a country refuses to relinquish their resources in trade, no-one will force them to.

The only socialist superpower collapsed under it's own failings and adopted capitalism. I'd say that is victory for the west .

You lost the Cold War. Get over it and maybe try adopting capitalism and benefit yourself and hence society?

Even The Economist recently confirmed that Scandinavia is the model for Europe and is doing better across all measurable economic, wellbeing and health criteria than almost anywhere else in the world. Reason: decades of commitment to social democratic and redistributive policies, high tax rates on the wealthy, governments not corrupted by the elite wealthy class.
I don t get why you have such a chip on your shoulder against those with money? were you beaten with a stack of dollars when you were young or something?

if you're referring to china they have a third if the worlds population so that's going to happen. They also have a high degree of inequality of wealth. An army that seems to be garrisoned in such a way as to protect the government from the people and a middle class who are pushing fir more democracy whilst the peasant class want a share of the wealth.

china can't project military force anywhere in the world and the only thing going fir it is its size in population that in many ways is fractured.

The Chinese have done a good job paying off politicians to let them do it in many other countries.

Might be something to do with large natural resources and some if the most productive workers in the world. And an aversion to immigration.
