    Meat and "processed meat" are two different things. Too much processed food is bad for you. If you only buy pure products, i.e. meat that has not been processed, you're good. Everybody knows that junk food, deep fried chicken and all that **** which is rolled in oil and breadcrumbs is bad for you.
    That study has nothing to do with whether a clean steak with vegetables is unhealthy.

    My point with this thread was to point out the BBC exaggerating the findings of this study. At worst, you can argue that eating a load of meat increases your chance of dying within 13 years by 0.2%, which to most people is so small it's easily worth taking on if you get to munch food you like.

    As a Vegetarian , I have to agree.

    Eating meat in healthy amounts is not dangerous to your health at all, they shouldn't be scare-mongering with fake facts.

    To be fair to the BBC, their article says 'Processed meat in early death link', not 'Eating meat is bad for you'

    Play the Bear's Food Scare Game: you need a fair die

    throw the die three times ( carefully and with appropriate supervision if you are under 21 ):

    use the results to select a Location, Foodstuff, Disease from the following lists:

    Location:

    1 =University of Healing Big Sur California

    2 =Esalen Institute of Nutritional Vibrations California

    3 =Scripps' Hole Food Rumour Lab California

    4 =Hukillabambi University Helsinki

    5 =Inner Voice Knowledge Laboratories Hebden Bridge Yorkshire

    6 =TSR Chat "Where Facts Come First"

    Foodstuff

    1 =Cheese

    2 =Jelly

    3 =Soup

    4 =Anchovies

    5 =Pizza

    6 =Scallops

    Disease

    1 =Hallucinations

    2 =Bunions

    3 =Premature ejaculation

    4 =Madness

    5 =Heavy Legs

    6 =Gleet

    Now in a worried BBC voice read out this statement filling in the blanks with your results...

    Scientists today from INSERT LOCATION have issued a warning linking consumption of INSERT FOODSTUFF to the danger of INSERT DISEASE
    We contacted the Ministry of Health but they declined to comment. In our Birmingham studio we can talk to Jess O'Donnell from the pressure group Kids' Food Committee. Jess ? How worried are KFC about today's announcement ?
