In the notes it says that cord blood is multipotent, but isn't it pluripotent?
Taxonomy and classification has been removed from the spec
Transpiration process and more detail than the basic structure, location and function of only xylem and sclerenchyma have never been on the spec.

Good luck to everyone! I'm hoping the paper's difficult content-wise so the grade boundaries are nice and low and better than the ridiculous 80% January ones...

Please can someone give me the steps involved in the totipotency practical?

single cell taken from a growing area
the cell is placed in a sterile growth medium
the growth medium contains nutrients and growth hormones
plant cell will grow/divide into unspecialised cells
the unspecialised cells will differentiate into specialised cells if condition are at its optimum
cell will grow and differentiate into an entire plant

heey just joined here  what are ur expectations for 2mmorows exam bio unit 2?

Lots of topic 3 questions, not much practical and HSW emphasis.
Which is not a bad thing if that is correct.

Not sure if we really need this but what actually happens in G1, S1 and G2 for interphase.

G1--syntheseis of cellular proteins and organelle
s1-- replication of DNA
G2-- synthesis of spindle fibres

hope this helps

multipotent - cells differentiate, but can form a number of other tissues. it is not pluripotent because it cannot give rise to many cell types

hope this helps

I reckon:

Not much HSW or practicals
Lots on mitosis phases
Root tip squash practical description or maybe tensile strength or tissue culture
RER/Golgi transport
Zoos
Stem cells
Mammalian fertilisation/adaptations or maybe plant fertilisation
Cell structure
Maybe a small question on cellulose structure

Thanks alot mate! Do you have the ones for Physics and Chemistry Unit 2? Would really appreciate that. Thanks again.

its allright if they give clear questions they want to ask, not ;long winded question where you have to play detective to find out what they want

multipotent cells can differentiate into any cell of a particular cell type e.g. cord blood or adult stem cells

pluripotent cells can differentiate into any cell types

am sure they will bring the fertilization

what do you mean by cell structure
????
Why are plant extracts more effective at lower concentration when they create larger zones of inhibition than others?
