Hello, I was hoping that someone could help me out with this.

I got a B in AS Further Maths last year, which I tried bumping up to an A by resitting S2, however my resit although better than my first attempt, didn't help, and I would rather not resit S2 again this summer. So I was wondering if it was possible to move my modules around to make my AS Further Maths grade an A.

Here are my current AS/A2 Maths marks:

    AS Maths:

    C1 -87
    C2 - 80
    S1 - 81
    S2 - 67
    FP1 - 79
    D1 - 87

    A2 Maths:

    C3 - 93
    M1 - 80
C4 - Haven't done this paper yet; will hopefully get 90+

FP1, S1 and S2 were combined to form my AS Further Maths Grade. (B)
    C1, C2, C3, C4, D1 and M1 are going to be combined to form my A-level Maths Grade. (A)

I was wondering if I would be able to swap S1+S2 with D1+M1? Which would give me a total of 246 UMS for AS Further Maths (A), and would still let me get an A* in Maths as long at I get 90+. Is this is possible? If it is, would I have to make a request Edexcel to do this? Or would they do it automatically?

    Thank you! <3

Edexcel will automatically moves your units about so you get the best possible grade in maths with as little wasted UMS as possible

This means you could have A* in maths but then only a B in further, its just the way edexcel do it

For units, d1 and m1 can be combined but if you want to use m2 or d2 then they must pair up, like d1 and d2

    Awww, okay. Thanks~
So it I do manage to get an A*, they would allocate the high UMS A* with the B in AS further maths rather than a lower UMS A* with an A in AS further maths?

    What you said would work,

    Maths:
    C1,C2,C3,C4,S1,S2 Total= 498 (if C4 is 90) A*

    F.maths
    FP1,D1,M1 Total = 246 A

Yeah what you suggested would make far more sense to me: adding C1-C4 (provided you get 90+ in C4), S1 & S2 would still give you at least 498 UMS in Maths, giving you the A*, and M1, D1, and FP1 would then total 246 for an A in AS FM...but I'm not sure what Edexcel's policy is. I would say email them and ask them though, and hopefully they see your logic!
