Has anyone ever made the offer for their firm choice but then decided that they want to go to insurance choice?

If so is this possible, how easy is it?

I think I remember reading that If you're accepted by your firm choice then you are committed to going there.

You can't officially change your mind after accepting your firm/ insurance offers. However, I do know someone who changed their mind and managed to get their firm to 'release' them, then went to one of the offers they had previously rejected (after phoning them up beforehand to check they had spaces) - a bit like going through clearing I guess... So it may be possible to negotiate on results day, but this is in NO WAY GUARANTEED.
