but I put DESC for some strange reason...

I did this too. No idea why, I know it is ASC...

Oh well, only 1 mark!
I put ALPHABETICAL for the last line of the SQL. Will that be okay?
Original post by NightStrider
I got the exact same as you !

hi5!! I'm pretty sure you don't NEED to put ASC cause the default for ordering by strings is alphabetical

Two things, not sure whether they'd pick up on it though:

The number shouldn't be within quotes.

ALPHABETICAL should be ASC.

Previously mark schemes have said to accept values in quotes.

I put Descending (DESC) :'(

Who put post order for the tree traversal?

That is correct, even if you did not perform the trace you could tell by the structure of the procedure that it is post order.
Incredibly weird paper overall this one!

Q1a) I got No,Yes,Yes,No
No idea what was wrong with the BNF!
Recursive reason was a bit what?

But then the rest was reasonable ish,the networking stuff was surprisingly the best part for me,although for the 8 marker not sure if I written the correct things

I talked about TCP/IP ---> routers re-routing packets then the gateway moves the packet from the LAN to the WAN of the internet---> then the packet gets passed through switches, gateways and routers? Is this what people written ish?

No idea for the one where you had to write an algorithm for the linked list

Was expecting this to be hard, but I felt AQA took things a bit too far...again

The turing machine question was tricky, positive I got it though

01 # 01
Just copies whats on the left of the # to whats on the right

The last part I put Alter Table also :P just thought it was the most arbituary!

The relative error and absolute error I could not remember (But used logic to as I knew both definitions)

Overall mean, but manageable, grade boundaries should be a lil lower I believe

Did anyone actually attempt the 8-marker on networks? Also, what did you guys for the denary and normalising question? I got 40 for denary, but completely forgot how to normalise!! How do you normalise -7.75?!

<type> listed char as one of the types, which wasn't one of the types listed in the original figure. Dk about the other error. :/

Aw man! I put that then changed it to Insert Column :frown:

I got 40 for the denary. :P To convert -7.75, I did this:

Convert -7.75 to fixed point:

7.75 = 0111.11
-7.75 = 1000.01

Move the radix point 3 to the left (so that there is no trailing 0's):

1.00001

That is the mantissa, the exponent is 3.

I think the other error was on the procedure def bit.

Got the same

The other error was that it stated that ( <param> ) was required, when it wasn't. The diagram has an arrow that could bypass it.

I think it was too. It only allowed you to have procedure def with parameters but the diagram showed you could have it without parameters.

Still though I don't believe the paper was started in the right manner! Only dropping 2 marks there though so oh well

I finished this paper with like 1 hour and a half to go what is with that? Everyone did have a final question of Q9?

Just seemed so short, although a lot of marks were longer ones towards the end really
Original post by JASApplications
For the ERD, what relationships did you get?

I think I got 3 one-many but can't remember where they were to.

I had 3 one->many, they all involved customer

Their was another alternative for the first expression I believe
