Grades / subjects needed for radiography?

hey so i'm in year 11 at the moment, i'm not quite sure what i want to do in the future yet but radiography appeals to me.

for my alevels i have chosen history, geography, politics and biology. I am working at a gcse a* in hist and geog and an a in biology. Obviously we have not yet been given target grades for a level.

So does anyone have a rough idea on grades and whether these subjects will be okay? also, if anyone has studied radiography what is it like as a course?
I think Physics is sometimes required for Radiography as it's sorta like medicinal physics?

My friends mother is a radiographer and she has a masters in Physics, so maybe try going for physics instead of geography or physics

1 science subject should be ok for most unis but obviously more is better. Physics would give you an advantage but its not essential as they teach you from scratch. I would recommend picking one of psychology, sociology or English alongside biology in place of one your other subjects. If you're considering therapeutic radiography maths would also be useful as you have to be able to do dose calculations.

Only one science subject? Maths or Physics will be useful.

Maths and physics might be useful, physics in particular.
Why dont you email unis and see what their entry requirements are so you get an idea of if they require any specific subjects at a-level and what the entry requirements are likely to be.
In my opinion human anatomy and physiology will be more suitable for radiographer,
I looked at radiography for a while, in particular diagnostic radiography. I'm doing Mahs, Physics, Biology and Religious Studies right now at AS level and I know that you definitely need at least one science, and that they favoured biology or physics. Hope this helps.
As Emma posted in 2013 I suspect she is now studying radiography or changed her mind!

Hi, I know this is like 6 years late but I really need some help. I'm interested in becoming a radiographer and I'm going to be choosing my A-levels soon so I was thinking of choosing Bio, Eng lit and psychology/sociology. Would these subjects be good to choose? Or do I have to choose chem or physics/ math as well? Plz reply
Those A levels are fine you have biology and sociology one science A level is required and that is fine. Sociology is a social science and it helps especially in radiography as its baout communication and the needs of the patient.

I decided to pick applied science so I would be doing bio, chem and physics together, including sociology and psychology. Is this alright?

Hi I’m at the end of my first year in college and I do biology, chemistry and biology. I wanted to do dentistry however I thought it would be too challenging for me so I decided to go for radiography. I have been researching the requirements and it says I need a physics and math a level but it is too late to change subjects. Is there anything I can do to for me to be able to do radiography in uni?
