UNOFFICIAL MS. There's probably 1/2 errors but yeah it seems all good.
You got Homologous Series definition wrong?

A couple of things I think are incorrect on the unofficial mark scheme

2b)i) should be C5H10O, not C5H9OH as it wants molecular
2c) May want "same functional group" rather than just chemical properties
2d) The bottom two boxes are the same, there are two possible places the double bond can form
3a) Should be ester and alkene, it's not a ketone, the C=O bond is part of the ester functional group
5b) Think it should be 410, as there are already 2 moles of N2O

    Not at all!
    A U grade boundary in January 2013 was 49/100.
    C - 63.
I just checked so I was a little close I guess!

Thought this was a bit crap, but looking at the unofficial markscheme it seemed to be OK. However I was really ****ing stupid and forgot the equation for the fermentation of glucose
    How? HOW?

I finished about 15 minutes early, checked through my answers in 5 and then spent about 10 minutes being a moron with that equation. At least it was only 1 mark :erm:

For the fermention one, my teacher says you shouldn't use 37 degrees as this is human body temperature so you could be selectively breeding microorganisms that could survive in humans.
You're getting it confused with biology tbh

Oh my god for that cycloalkene thing where you have to draw on four boxes, I drew the full structural formula instead of skeletal? Like with Hs and Cs .. took me ages. So am I gonna lose all marks for that section?

For 1bi) did you have to state c5h10 was a product of the cracking because In the question it doesn't specify so I put any random alkene and alkane which made c15h32

Also isn't it meant to be c5h10O

Also isn't it meant to be ester and alkane

Also would I get the mark for saying HFCs or is that wrong?

For "Enthalpy change of combustion" you can write, "(Enthalpy change) when one mole of a substanceis completely combusted OR burns in excess oxygen" See here: http://www.ocr.org.uk/Images/63928-m...urces-june.pdf Q.1 B, i.

While I was trying to do it I thought it might be CO2, but then thought all reactions produce water instead! Thats true, made a few other silly mistakes though that were worth a mark
