At first I thought it may be a plot to make it look like Al Qaeda was behind the bombings, with fairly weak, steriotypical evidence of a muslim plot (the koran recordings, the suposed converts as bombers), but now it looks more likely that it realy is a AQ attack. It just seems a bit sloppy for them.

Why is everything linked to AL Q?

because its easier to understand that, and too focus on multiple enemys and not one is impossible for the public.

They are the highest profile terrorist organisation in the world since 9/11. It is like the IRA being pointed at first for all terrorism in Britain. Some of it won't have been, it may be splinter cells or rogue agents, but they still come under the heading of IRA. The same way that several groups have joined AQ and now many Islamic terrorists claim to be, or are called Al Qaeda. It gives a sense that something is happening and that they are a part of a larger organisation, the second largest in the world (after McDonalds).

Al-Qaeda itself is pretty small, because of Bin laden's family wealth however he is able to fund many terrorist groups/attacks.

this is part of why it is s successful, its splintered. terrorist cells often have no contact with their funders

The whole point in the cell structure is that a cell can be easily created or dismantled without any other cell being informed. This means that the size of a terrorist group is constantly changing, with some groups totaly out of contact and operating on their own, and others merging with each other and outsiders to create larger groups.

It was Al Qaeda that did the spain bomb, it said on the news that all the evidence so far points to Al Qaeda and the intelligence service are 90% certain it was an Al Qaeda attack! NOT ETA. Eta denies they were responsible for the atrocity. Al Qaeda hasn't come forward though and claimed responsiblilty but they haven't denied it either and asylum seekers are supporting the attacks and saying they were justified!
    seemed rather obvious

AQ arn't the only terrorists in the world you know. Could have been any of those many splintered groups of Neo-nazi/communist, basque ETA, even mafia. No way you can tell it is AQ just from the timing.
