Imagine living at home in Syria and wondering why Britain is making your home town a war zone. You spend years building up a life and community only to loose everything because of some Terrorist. When the Syrian Army comes to your aid some random fool in the UK decides he will help the terrorist.

I fully support the Secular dictatorship of Syria. The sad truth is these mid east countries need secular dictatorships as long as the majority of the population are uneducated raving religious fanatics more interested in religious conflict and ethnic divides than peace and prosperity. Democracy is something that must be worked towards as part of an evolutionary process and cannot be imposed on backwards savages. I say this as an ethnic Iraqi. It is a shame that the West is helping these terrorists across the mid east, I hope the oil runs out real soon so that these scum stop getting money and weapons to wage their inhumane wars.

Is anyone really surprised. We're going to hear more and more of these kind of stories, because once there's the least bit of trouble, the Muslims in those areas just cannot get along.

This isn't a dig at all Muslims, but just look at the ME, the only nations without huge sectarian problems are the dictatorships. They're just as bad in other ways, but I'm pretty sure as soon as Assad falls there's going to be all sorts of atrocities committed against the Alawite Shias, hell any Shias.

Yeah the Shias are going to get massacred down to the last, there is nothing these Wahhabi and Salafist scum hate more in this world than Shias, not even Jews or Atheists. And this radical ideology is being propagated by the Saudis whom the West is friends with and gives money and weapons to. 9/11, 7/7, Afghanistan, Saudi and Qatari money is behind it all. I hate the world we live in.

Yeah, the majority of the people have been massacred for the last 2 years constant nonstop, infrastructure totally destroyed in large areas, widespread torture and suppression, mass immigration and emigration within and to outside of the country (millions). All this and historical sites, huge residential areas and other innocent people shot and bombed with airplanes, artillery, tanks.

People took the arms about one year ago, it didn't start violently. Unlike Libya, which is currently a success, hopefully, and for sure, Syria will get rid of the tyranny of the Assads.

I'm not saying the Assad regime is any better, but the violence they have perpetrated is to try and keep power in a violent civil war. Yes they have done horrible things, yes I'd like to see them out. But do I want to see the FSA in power? Heavens forbid. They have confirmed elements of AQ and other Islamist insurjent groups, they are already committing sectarian crimes, and from one look at the region and the history, you know that once they get power those sectarian crimes will only get worse. Mark my words, whatever power takes over from Assad, they will be no better, they might have the support of the Sunni majority and the backing of Islamists, but they will be a government who do everything the Assads do and worse.

The FSA's best fighters are Jihadists. You bet they will get into power if they succeed just like what's happened in Egypt.

You need to look back at the history of Syria my friend.

Sunnis are second class people in Syria, Right from the aftermath of world war two to know.

I find it odd that people can see how intolerant Islam is with regards to the Syrian conflict and other examples like Egypt - but when it comes to 'palestinians', they're viewed as angels even though they're the pioneers of modern day Islamic terrorism.

One does have to wonder why the double standards.

I'm sure there's no hidden agenda involved
