An unknown compound, C7H5N on catalytic hydrogenation gave C7H15N. Hydrolysis of the unknown converted it into an acid, which on fusion with NaOH yielded C6H6. On catalytic hydrogenation this hydrocarbon gave C6H12. Suggest a suitable structure for the unknown.

You should be able to see that C6H6 is the formula for benzene That's a pretty good starting point to determine the structure of the unknown
