It's only right that we inconvenience them by making them learn English after they invaded us.

Damn right. We can apply this to nearly everyone in Europ, French especially, as well as Spanish, Germans and Italians. To only problem is: why the Japanese and the Chinese and all those other people who never invaded us?

*Flash of enlightenment* OH! I get it: we invaded them . That explains everything.

Fair play, but revolutionary? I can't quite see a bomb throwing anarchist disrupting things: "You B****DS you wouldn't give me enough time to study!"

Neither can I to tell you the truth. Denmark is a weird blend of royalist and socialist.

Your right, it doesnt matter at all once you've left. This place is quite frankly the only place I mention it. My boss at the moment is OE, I tweeked, and asked him, and had a little chat about school etc, but thats as much as have done in the last year. I mean, obviously you go to the old boy piss ups, but apart from that its pretty igsinificant. Coming on this board takes me back, mmm, all the banter

Hehe, only one person I have met in Cambridge has heard of my school, and that was cos one of her friends from prep school went there (actually ended up being Head Chorister the year after me, as well as head of our house). Oh, and Tim Brown (Clare's director of music) who had heard of our choir

I don't have the "old schools" thing going on around me much; with my circle of people it's more the reminiscences (sp?) about NYO days, Eton choral courses and various music tours. Sigh...

Argh....
The yr.12 Media people want to interview me about the 'Cambridge application' process & 'my achievement', for some article or other. I really wish they'd stop...too much pressure & yet more people to let down if I miss the grades! They want photos & everything :frown: . I can't say no as I'd look really arrogant & selfish, & their teacher has been really good to me over the years. I find it kind of funny that the 3 Oxford people are all excited about it....lol!

LOL, yeah, much as it saddens me; they are excited about it! We don't have a school newpaper so I don't really know what it's for but I think it's part of their CW. I think it's because it gives them opportunity to 'boast' & go on & on about it, whereas normally we all tell them to shut up! They had 16+ evening yesterday, I had to help at the chemistry display, apparently my name was mentioned by our Head in his talk on the schools achievments etc, so many parents asking so many questions :frown: ! He also came up and patted me on the back and told me all about his visit to Cambridge last week, I have serious personal space issues & really didn't appreciate that!!

Well, I hated my headmaster anyway, but I definitely had to put up with more limp handshakes and annoying sucking up after my offer than before, when I was just the boring clever one
