I've written an essay but struggled on a particular point so researched it on the internet and got some ideas. I paraphrased everything but do I still need to reference? Also, if I do reference, will this have any effect on my grade? Like, because the ideas weren't my own, will it make my grade go down?

    Thanks

It depends on the level, I'm assuming this is coursework. GCSE - No. AS Level - No. A2 Level - Probably yes.

Try and reference as best you can, because you are meant to reference even when paraphrasing. Or at least reference and footnote the web address. Your teacher can help if you ask
