    Im struggling how to find the tension in each cord.

    Well firstly the diagram would have been nice.

    So guessing a little at what it shows...
    Resolve the tension in the cords vertically - you have the angle from part a)
    They each have a moment equal to that vertical component times the distance from the hinge. In other words, the width of the shelf.
    In the opposite direction you have the weight of the shelf acting downwards at its centre of mass which is at a point half the width of the shelf away from the hinge.
