I'm in year 11. I plan to study Law at Uni and want to go to a good uni (Russell Group, maybe even Oxbridge).

    My Choices:
    • History
    • English Lit
    • Biology
    • Drama
    • Government and Politics

Do you think these are good choices?

Secondly, I am currently doing an AS level Theology, despite my protests, and I am worried that I won't do very well in it. I will probably get a B, maybe even a C (if I'm unlucky). Do you think this will ruin my chances to go to a top university?

For Oxbridge, I would definitely say History, they also like Maths as well. I do Politics and I love it, Biology and English Lit are both strong subjects I believe. Drama, seen as a bit weak in terms of oxbridge, if you were to take it I'd say only do AS, don't take it on to A2.

Hmm, interesting taking an AS before year 12 but if you get A's in your other subjects then I can't see it impacting significantly, especially if you get a B.

    Hope I've helped somewhat

Unfortunately, There is no way I would ever do Maths. Do you think this'll be a problem.

Universities won't expect maths for a course unrelated to it. Your best bet though is too look on some Uni sites at their requirements.

I think you should cut out the drama because I've heard the work overwhelmed the other subjects. Drama is for people who only want to go into drama, so they focus on this subject.

Yes I would definitely drop drama and focus on the other four in order to get top grades.

I'd drop Drama and focus on getting good grades in the others- Drama seems to take up a lot of time. Getting a B or above in Theology definitely won't hurt your chances, either- but your other subjects are really good in that you've got a mix of essay and scientific subjects, which gives you an all round good view of things and will enable you to talk about a variety of subjects.

Not having maths won't put you at a disadvantage because you have biology to counteract all the essay subjects. My friend is going to Oxford this year for Law- she took A2 Critical Thinking, History, Government and Politics and Biology, and then AS Religious Studies

Naa of course maths won't disadvantage you, sorry if I worried you there! I'm just saying they like it but yeah Biology is also good, as is History.
