You're just basing this view on how you've seen a few men treat women, i.e. exclaiming "bird" or whatever. Whilst those men are repugnant, they are judged on their actions and their pathetic words have consequences. Besides, you can never change how people think. Despite popular belief most men are charming and treat women well, actually forget treating women well (that only exacerbates the gender issue), people treat individuals well.

There isn't a sexist society, just sexist individuals whose IQ is the same number as the fingers on one hand.

Why is bird any worse than any of the slang words people use for men? I think you should chill out, accept that men and women will never be completely equal and move on

Pointing how pathetic you men who devote your time to fighting feminism are?

I think you're damaged.

The irony is you yourself are devoting your time to fighting the men fighting feminism, which makes you a hypocrite. The real shame is that you don't seem able to acknowledge the fact that the male part of this species faces problems too. Send my condolences to the man who marries you.
Such a stupid thread, cause any man that has an issue with modern day feminism is a lonely, sexist loser right?

These discussions never go anywhere; which is a shame. A talk about sexism is not an excuse to have a bitching contest about whose got it worse off. When we get over that concept then we might get somewhere. There are inequalities but they are on both sides.

I'm confused about why this was posted in the first place because it just makes while stabs at males with little real thought. If I were to judge female behaviour based purely on activity on the ether then my view is probably likely be rather... skewed. Anonymity is a powerful tool in an ********'s arsenal and this is a massive problem because people are just screaming totally filth at anyone trying to get a reaction.

What you do is simple mix with people that treat you correctly. I've know girls that appear to mistake feminism for men-hating. I didn't really talk to them for long and I'd not expect anyone to hang around if the genders where reversed.

Maybe I'm just being naïve. I've never understood why you'd treat someone differently based on any given attribute. Behold my mighty moral superiority!

And for what its worth I think such a discussion in this environment is better held when information on gender is withheld.

I read the post, but you didn't make an argument for why people who are sexist are lonely or bitter.

Insulting people , because they hold a disagreeable opinion isn't exactly mature, or logical.

Where have I expressed a hatred or dislike for women?

Not at all, she's feisty and lively.

Why would she be submissive?

And since im in a good mood, have my Facebook, marriage can be verified there, leaft you a nice status as well!

Nothing wrong with having self-respect, I just think there is more than enough evidence in nature, sociology, history and day to day life to show that men and women have roles they are best suited for and that there is a fundamental inequality between the sexes, psychologically and physically with both genders having positive and negative attributes.

Neither is superior in the greater scheme, but they are not inherently equal in that they should be treated the same in all respects and all contexts.

Boom!! pwnd that Booharhoo girl!!!

I stumbled across a forum once that was for men that were focused on a permanent bachelor life, having weighed and measured the female dating pool, and deeming them as unfit. Fair enough, but the whining on there basically consisted of 1. "All women are sluts who open their legs for anyone, avoid them with your life, i'd only commit to a virgin whose only concern in life was being a dutiful girlfriend/wife- being prepared to undertake an endless cycle of sandwich making and performing blowjobs." 2. "I'm 'pumping and dumping' as many women as possible". The hypocrisy was unbearable.

I know the type, but those men are pathetic idiots, just like the women that hate men.

That sounds awful.
To see the other side of the coin with plenty of bitter twisted vindictiveness you could do worse than to swing by the feminist forums on www.mumsnet.com.

Mumsnet is not a feminist forum, it's a just a place filled with bile, hatred and intolerance, where people congregate to inflict their deeply unpleasant personalities on others.

For every man like that, I can show you ten women seeking out a perfect man, a perfect wedding and an expensive house with Orla Kiely wallpaper; whilst not wanting to work except on her own terms and still fantasizing about a shirtless Australian gardener drinking diet Coke.

Im afraid we'll have to agree to dissagree on that one.
Among the many forums are a femism section with five subforums

Feminism/women's rights chat
Feminist activism
Feminist book clubs
Feminist support
Feminist theory

containing thousands of post, a high proportion from radical feminists spouting the stuff you describe.

In the same way that there are probably dozens of students on this site that think they are Marxists; but are in actual fact clueless, self-entitled, spoilt brats - there are scores of people on mumsnet who think that having heard of Germaine Greer makes them a feminist.

Nope. Most are making legitimate claims against the extremist elements inside the current Feminist movement.

Maybe some are sexist but when some Western countries are talking of banning internet porn, I think it is right that people take a stand and say, no, this has gone too far.

Claiming that feminism is currently extreme is part of the phenomenon of intensifying sexism - feminism is much less extreme now as a movement than it used to be. As that visibly isn't working and sexism has resurfaced with much more intensity, it probably needs to get more extreme, albeit in smarter ways than in the past.

The campaign against internet and other porn is useful and necessary (and failing so far) because it is heavily distorting the lives of young children, who are growing up prematurely as they are exposed to the most vile material. The anti-hardcore position should be a natural alliance between right and left wingers, all but extremist libertarians support the removal of hardcore from the visibility of children.

No more a smear than the introduction of the word "all".

It belongs to the same genre of smears and was clearly what you meant to hint.

As a proud card carrying member of the Patriarchy, I can indeed confirm that we are doubling our efforts to oppress women online.

Not at all. It's not unreasonable to assume that there are many hundreds of people on TSR that think themselves to be Marxists. I am saying that a section ("dozens") are anything but.

Isn't 'reverse' it's just sexism, but apparently it's impossible to be sexist to men.
