I'm definitely not against the lolly pop ladies and I just wanted to know other views. If you're against it, why are you? Is it because of ideology or your own personal views?

I know exactly! I think they are a valuable part of the community, escorting people young and old across busy roads.

    I know it's a joke thread but... .

when ever i see lollypop men/women they're at traffic lights, from a very young age i was capable of pressing the button and waiting for a green man. I don't doubt that it's done out the kindness of their heart it just makes them a little bit.... pointless.

    Ok, I'll take the bait...

At a zebra crossing I appreciate their need. At a pelican crossing however, there is no need for them at all and I'd consider them a waste of money.
Can anyone shed any light on why they are stationed at pelican crossings?
