Most nouns are masculine, so just make a special effort to remember those that are feminine and then by process of elimination you know the rest will be masculine.

I have the same problem in German but it's much worse with three genders

You're not always going to remember the gender, but here's a few tips to help you out!

Hope that helps
From my quick research on the internet, it would appear that about 55% of French nouns are masculine, so 45% are feminine. Memorising all the feminine words you know would still be a mammoth job, I think!

Try looking at this website: http://membres.multimania.fr/clo7/grammaire/nomsMF.htm which gives some sensible rules and common exceptions.
