    Hi,
I am hoping to apply for Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in a few years time, and they say in the entry requirements that a year of clinical experience is desirable. Does anyone know what would be classed as clinical experience in particular apart from working in hospitals? Any ideas will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Desirable? Where did you see that?

The courses I have viewed have asked for a minimum of one years work experience, and more as desirable.

You can gain clinical experience in hospitals, health centres, community mental health teams, child mental health services and social services really. Even experiences elsewhere such as prisons or educational will also have some relevancy to clinical in there, although not as much as direct contact with patients.

    Good luck!
