"Ich möchte Niederländisch lernen, weil die Sprache mir Spaß macht"? There might be some way of saying it that would sound more natural, but otherwise that's right.

"Ich möchte Niederländisch lernen, weil sie eine lustige Sprache ist" for funny?
Aha! It's the second one I was after...
Octopus_Garden gave me that exact translation! But I was not sure whether 'sie' should be an 'es' because as you know...'das Niederlaendisch' is neuter...but I guess you're certain that the noun 'Sprache' is the determiner here?

Didn't consider the gender of "Niederländisch" I'm actually not too sure on that particular grammatical facet.

    Ronove reveal yourself!
There is a particular tendency to use the pronoun that matches the clause, so 'weil sie eine komische Sprache ist'... I think. It's eluding me right now. Just finished my first five day stretch at Subway.

Bonne idée. Je voudrais parler français et italien couramment * but I won't start learning them until * je finirai mon licence à l'université. Et je préfère cette langue. En revanche, d'être bilingue ou trilingue * is a very useful prospect for an aspiring journalist

De første to dage var rimeligt hårde, men jeg kan godt lide det nu. Det er rigtigt stressende når vi har for travlt i butikken, men ellers går det fint. Mine fødder er nu også i gang med at vænne sig til arbejdet.

Someone I was serving today looked at me in open admiration and said 'your English is really amazing, have you lived abroad?'.

    Since it's clearly an opinion...
Shouldn't it be: ...weil ICH sie eine komische Sprache FINDE.
    Am I right?

Wauw! I want to translate that but that's such effort on my super slow android phone

You know you're a local when random people start complimenting your English!

Why were you speaking English anyway? lol

You might be a religious nut whose religion asserts that Dutch is a funny language :pierre: :mmm:

Is that a rule though? Would a German think you were making an objective statement if you said "ist" rather than "finde"?

    Wie bitte? / You woot?

Why do you answer my questions with questions?

But yes, you do indeed differentiate between fact and opinion in German, Pierre.
