say if you send a uni lecturer a thankyou card when you leave is it weird to put your name and then an 'x' under your name even if you didnt particularly know them well but they had helped you through? Should the x be left out?

Seems as you're not naturally thinking to put one it shows you may feel a bit uncomfortable about doing it yourself
Therefore i would say leave it out
The card enough is a lovely gesture without a kiss at the end

No ive already done it but now feel embarrased as the lecturer is female but has quite high status and is not the type you would put x with.
