Whos taking arabic edexcel and how u finding it

My name is Yasmine, I'm in Year 10, and I'm taking Arabic GCSE and Edexcel is the exam board.
So far, I'm finding it pretty good, although my teacher doesn't teach AT ALL, so I have to learn it myself.
Is Arabic your native language? How are you finding it?

Same here! Although my teacher teaches us things that we learnt back in Year 7! Recently, we went through past papers, and it's so much better than before. What parts of Arabic are you good at? And what other subjects are you taking?

Cool! I'm taking Textiles, Art, History, Triple Science, R.S. and the core subjects!

I'm good at listening, reading and speaking. Writing is a big NO NO for me.
Do you have any resources that you use for Arabic?
And what are you currently working on?

Hi

There is a new book out now called GCSE Arabic Companion. It follows Edexcel syllabus and offers lots in terms of practice for the exam. It is definitely worth checking.

Try GCSE Arabic Speaking Companion book. There is, as well, GCSE Arabic Companion - a textbook for students and teachers.

I posted on this thread some detailed advice about GCSE Arabic including the oral questions (which are public domain as far as I'm aware) but TSR removed it. In any case I have created this thread for help on GCSE Arabic

I'm using these forums for some postgraduate application issues but I thought I could garner some good karma by helping others. I did Arabic at SOAS and one of the things I do is tutor GCSE and A-level Arabic students.

Anyone take their GCSE Arabic exam in yr 11 so in between other exams, cuz mine is in the afternoon after everyone else's exam and on a separate day so kinda worried I'd be the only year 11 there.
